Network for Africa supports the Aspire project in Rwanda where Peace Ruzage teaches impoverished women skills and literacy, allowing them to earn an income so they can feed and educate their children.
The women hand-make beads from recycled paper, cutting long strips and rolling them carefully before varnishing them. The latest selection of necklaces has been designed by Meli Melo, a world renowned designer. They also hand-make a range of greetings cards using dried banana leaf to illustrate a typical Rwandan scene.
